I didn't like Cancun. Well not true.... I didn't like the atmosphere of Cancun. It's just not Mexico. How do I explain that? Mexico is everything that Cancun isn't. Cancun is commercialized, Americanized and too clean. Yep, I like the dirt that is associated with "real" Mexico. It's not perfection, you do see poverty. The locals are locals not people that have moved to work in the travel industry. I loved the beaches in Cancun but that was about it. I really don't think that I would go back. I would go back to Isla Mujeres or Playa del Carmen. I'm more about the experience and the authenticity of a place. Beach resorts are great but what do you learn about the country? Though the all inclusive alcohol rocks :)
